What is Brand Viagra?

Brand Viagra is an effective drug used to treat erectile disorders. The active ingredient sildenafil restores reduced erectile function by increasing blood flow to the penis. The mechanism of action is based on the release of nitric oxide in the cavernous bodies at the time of sexual arousal. Free nitric oxide activates the enzyme guanylate cyclase, stimulating an increase in cGMP levels, which causes relaxation of smooth muscle fibers of the cavernous bodies and increased blood flow.

The drug is available in pill form.

Dosage and mode of application

Viagra is taken orally.

The drug is only effective in the presence of sexual arousal.

A pill is taken an hour before sexual activity.

A standard single dose is 25 mg (preferably on an empty stomach) with an interval of 6-8 hours. The maximum single and daily dose is 100 mg.

Contraindications

The medication is not used in the presence of any of the following conditions:

• allergy to sildenafil;
• intolerance to auxiliary components;
• the simultaneous use of drugs-donors of nitric oxide (for example, amyl nitrite) or nitrates;
• conditions when sexual activity is not recommended (severe heart failure, unstable angina);
• loss of vision in one eye due to non-arterial anterior ischemic neuropathy of the optic nerve;
• violation of liver function severe;
• arterial hypotension (blood pressure below 90/50 mm Hg);
• a recent stroke, myocardial infarction;
• hereditary degenerative changes of the retina (for example, pigmentary retinitis);
• children under 18 years.

Side effects

Brand Viagra can cause the following side effects:

• ENT disorders: deafness, ringing in the ears;
• Respiratory disorders: nasal congestion, pharyngitis, bronchitis, sinusitis, laryngitis, dyspnea, increased cough, increased sputum, bronchial asthma;
• Cardiovascular disorders: arterial hypotension, tachycardia, orthostatic hypotension, palpitations, angina pectoris, myocardial ischemia, cardiomyopathy, ECG changes, heart failure, AV-blockade, cerebral thrombosis, cardiac arrest;
• Hematological disorders: anemia, leukopenia;

• Other: peripheral edema, pain syndromes, sweating, chills, shock, allergic reactions.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

The drug is not intended for use in women.

Interactions

Some medicines can change the effect of Viagra. Tell your doctor about any drugs you are taking. Do not start or stop taking any medication without consulting your doctor. Sildenafil can affect certain medications, especially drugs used to treat chest pain. In the event of a situation requiring emergency medical care, you should inform your doctor, pharmacist or nurse that you have taken these pills and when you did it. Do not take these pills with other medicines unless it is allowed by your health care provider.

Remember that this medication should never be taken together with drugs containing nitrates, alpha-blockers, protease inhibitors, CYP3A4 isoenzyme inhibitors (for example, erythromycin, ketoconazole, itraconazole).

This preparation should not be combined with any other drugs that enhance potency.

Precautions

Dose adjustment is not required in elderly patients.

The medicine is effective only in the presence of sexual stimulation.

Violations of visual and auditory perception are temporary. If you experience similar symptoms, contact your doctor and stop using the drug.

PDE5 inhibitors affect the work of the heart and circulatory system, and therefore, in the presence of diseases of these systems, be careful and do not take the drug without consulting an experienced doctor.

Critical interactions with alcohol have not been reported but the instructions for use advise not to combine the drug with alcohol. This is due to the fact that alcohol lowers blood pressure and, when mixed with Brand Viagra, can lead to a dangerous level of blood pressure.

Sildenafil may cause dizziness and visual impairment. You must make sure that these disorders are absent before you get behind the wheel or start driving mechanisms.

Overdose symptoms: visual impairment, headache, flushing, dyspepsia, dizziness, nasal congestion. Treatment is symptomatic.

Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.

Keep the drug out of reach of children, away from heat and moisture.
